Skincare 101: Pore Care on a Budget!
Have you been noticing your pores getting larger over the past few years? Have you been having trouble with pesky blackheads? The more noticeable our pores become, the more inclined we feel to use primers, which usually end up clogging our pores and thus creating a vicious cycle. Dermatologists say that getting rid of enlarged pores is practically impossible, however we are able to maintain & reduce the appearance of our pores. There are two different methods of pore care products that are most frequently used, and it's important to know how to use them both.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
➢ 1. Cleanse your face ➢ 2. Open your pores by steam towels (recommended) ➢ 3. Apply the pore products ➢ 4. Rinse well ➢ 5. Finish with a toner or cold mask
Peel Off Pore Strips
Recommended for: Normal to Oily skin
Use once weekly
Peel-off pore strips are one of the easiest and cleanest ways to clean your pores. However, it has the potential to be harsh on your skin, so it is not recommended for sensitive skin types. You can usually find pore strips in sticker or mask form. Please note: it is important to use a toner or apply a cold face mask after application of a pore strip. This will help tighten your pores, as cleaning may cause them to appear larger.
Wash off Pore Masks
Recommended for: All skin types
Apply 2-3 times a week
Wash off masks can get little messy compared to peel off types, but they can be less irritating to your skin. Egg whites are well known to be good for tightening your pores, and clay has oils with a sebum absorbing effect leaving you with clean, fresh skin. It is not as hydrating as a regular face mask, so it is best for you to hydrate your skin after rinsing with your choice of products. Wash off masks typically don't show you immediate results. However, with steady use you can usually see diminished pores.
Remember, all skin types are different, and what works for some people won't always work for everyone. It's best to try different things out, and see what works best for you!
